On a toasty September day in Boston, a rather spectacular wedding took place, of which I was honored to be a part. Brian and Stacey, the sweetest couple of all time, began their day at the grand hotel that is the Royal Sonesta of Boston. If you’d like a visual, picture sweeping views of the Boston skyline and the Charles River right out the back door. Even better, just look at the visual evidence below.
When I arrived, Stacey donned a satin robe and Ugg slippers, rather indicative of the tone of the day – classy, yet relaxed. It was a pretty stress-free prep time, and I had quite a time snapping detail images, because they were some of the most lovely details I’ve ever seen (look at her DRESS). We also managed to fit in a (tear-jerking) father-daughter first look, as well as some wedding party photos beside the Charles River. Then it was go time.
We hopped in a (fancy) van and made our way around the corner to the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center. Have you EVER BEEN THERE?! It’s incredible. Just look. For real. The ceremony was in the movie-scene-like courtyard, an intimate space surrounded by trees and gardens – and so quiet you would NEVER know you were in the middle of Boston.
The quaint surrounding streets of Cambridge made for a wonderful backdrop for Brian and Stacey’s photos. They also made great subjects, so my job was essentially handed to me. Thanks, guys!
Then we made our way back to the venue to begin the celebration. The newlyweds made their big reception entrance via the stairs descending from the balcony surrounding the upper half of the Multicultural Arts Center theater. As previously noted, this venue is grand, to say the least. For real, unreal. Ornate ceilings; Victorian details, all reminiscent of the day when this venue served as a fully operational theater. It was just the perfect backdrop for an evening of dancing and laughing and fun and also dessert.
In all, the day was quite honestly a photographer’s dream: two simply wonderful people and a stunning venue. Sifting through these images makes me smile and want to go back and do it all over again. Thanks for having me along, you two! Cheers <3
Thanks for stopping by!

Amanda and Jason are a stupendously, awesomely, wonderfully unique couple. When Amanda reached out to discuss booking her wedding day, she mentioned that it would be non-traditional, and this made me {more than} a little giddy. But THEN I arrived at their sweet Boston apartment and saw their gorgeously awesome venue, and I became ridiculously enamored with e-v-e-r-y detail. You can be absolutely certain that any bride and groom who brews their own beer as a wedding favor is going to have some seriously good taste. Amanda and her bridesmaids spent the morning as any reasonable group of ladies would – watching Disney movies <3 Their beautiful hair and makeup were done by the talented Sydney Lauren Robinson of SLR Makeup {seriously – check her out}. When everyone was ready, we headed over to the wicked cool Waterworks Museum in Boston, where the ceremony took place. I loved the vintage-y feel of this place, and we had fun exploring the corners and stairwells to find places for some portraits. The reception followed at the trendy Bella Luna restaurant where dinner was a PIZZA BAR! So snazzy!! And delicious. It should also be noted that there were BOARD GAMES and, my personal favorite – cupcakes. On their invitations, Amanda and Jason referred to their reception as an after-wedding soirée – and it was just that. A relaxed, celebratory atmosphere where some awesome people spent time with the ones they love. How cool.
Thanks for stoppin’ on by!
